The Petersburgh Fire District No 1 is a governmental entity formed under the laws of New York State.
The District owns and operates the fire house, all apparatus and equipment used by the Petersburgh Volunteer Fire Department. Which is a separate entity of the district.
Commissioners are elected to a 5 year term by the registered voters of the district one commissioner each year at the annual election held on the 2nd Tuesday in December. Monthly meeting are the 3rd Wednesday of the month except December which is the is the 2nd Tuesday.
All meetings are at 7PM at the fire house 19213 NY Route 22. All Meetings are open to the public.

When in season, controlled burns should be reported to Rensselaer County Public Safety at (518) 270-5252. Please have ready the name, address, contact number, and approximate time of completion.
