Rules and Regulations
1. The deed to a lot must be produced prior to an interment. The full purchase price must be paid before a deed will be given or burial allowed in the lot.
2. All cornerstones must be set level with the ground and inside the corner boundaries of the lot at the time of purchase and before the deed is delivered.
3. The proprietor of each lot shall have the right to erect any proper stones or monuments thereon. Only one monument shall be allowed on a lot and it shall be set in accordance with the general plan of the cemetery and shall conform with said plan in size and material. The bases of all monuments shall be finished true and level so as to fit on foundations without wedging or sprawls. Every monument must be set on a solid mason work foundation. All foundations must be constructed in accordance with cemetery rules.
4. The cemetery association reserves the right to restrict the planting of shrubs and trees and have the right to remove same if deemed necessary. Also, all wreaths, flowers and other decorations will be removed as soon as they become unsightly. No glass blocks or glass receptacles for flowers, whether fresh or artificial, shall be used in the cemetery.
5. All lot enclosures of any kind whatsoever are prohibited.
6. All lot owners are required to notify the Association of any change of address. All notices required to be sent shall be sent to the last recorded address and such notices shall be deemed to be adequate.
7. All persons shall be allowed access to the cemetery during daylight hours, observing the rules which are in effect and the propriety due the cemetery.
8. All graves shall be dug only by persons approved by the Board of Trustees.
9. The interment of cremated remains will be permitted only in appropriate, rigid receptacles such as wood, metal, plastic or concrete and will be limited to three (3) such burials to a gravesite.
10. These rules and regulations may be amended by the Directors of the Pleasant Valley-Meadowlawn Cemetery Association, but no such amendments shall be effective until approved by the New York State Cemetery Board.
11. All lot owners are automatically members of the Pleasant Valley-Meadowlawn Cemetery Association and are urged to participate in the Association.
