Water District Superintendent Job Duties:

 

1. Inspections

    a.  System Check

b. Chlorine monitoring

c.  Building clean and neat

d. Keep piping in the Pump Station Clean

2.  Record Keeping

a.  Daily total usage water quantities

b.  Chemical used

3.  Daily Duties

a. Monitor answering machine and respond to calls

b.  System Inspection at the Pump Station

4.  Monthly Duties

a.  Take and deliver/mail water sames to RCHD (preferably via mail)

b.  Written Report to Town Board prior to the 3rd Monday of the Month

c.  Operational Report to RCHD prior to the 10th day of the Month

5  Bi-Annual Duties

a.  Recording of mater meter readings prior to January 1st and July 1st of each year (temporarily suspended until Meters are replaced)

b.  Patrons' notification of hydrant flushing via newspaper advertisement.

c.  Flushing of fire hydrants

6.  Annual Duties

a.  Preparation of Annual Estimate and Expenditures budget form in September

b.  Review and update of List of Patrons

7.  Repairs

a.  Performance of all repairs on meters, pipes, etc. as needed

b.  Coordination of digging with Town Highway Dept.

c.  Report to the Town Board & RCHD any problems.

d.  Immediately inform Town Supervisor and Fire Chief of all issues (breaks, non-operating hydrants, etc.)

8.  Other Responsibilities

a.  Shovel snow at pump and building as required (plowing done by Town Highway Dept.)

b.  Complete all other paperwork as required.

c.  Assist with resolving billing discrepancies

d.  Exercise system valves once a year.

e.  Resolve unforeseen difficulties encountered with the Water District

f.  Make recommentations for improvements in WD operations and infrastructure

g.  Other reporting as required by RCHD or other agencies

h.  Attend a minimun of 6 (six) Town Board Meetings per year

i.  Ordering and use of chemicals and other required supplies

WATER DISTRICT TAX COLLECTOR JOB DUTIES:

 

January 1st - June 30th:

1.  Calculating gallons used from metering readings (Suspended until Meters are replaced)

2.  Prepare invoices and non-working meter fees. (Currently $180.00 Fee until All Meters Repaired)

3.  Distribute 6/1 - 12/31 bills.

4.  Collection of payments

5.  Banking:  Deposits, Statements, etc.

6.  Submission of amount received to the Town

7.  May 1st. - Check tax roll book for changed to Patron List.

 

July 1st - December 31st:

1 thru 6 (same as above)

7.  End of October:  Re-Levy report to Rensselaer County

8.  Supply Orders, if required.
